ELECTION: Vote for Davis and Saterfiel

| November 3, 2023 1:00 AM

As a third generation Idahoan, I’m writing in support of Alan Davis, running for mayor of Hayden, and Roger Saterfiel, running for Hayden city council. Whether you are new to North Idaho or a long-time resident, you likely appreciate the natural beauty and friendly, community-minded locals. I have seen both of those put at risk when people move here and bring a “me first and get out of my way” attitude with them. Frankly, these folks don’t make good neighbors and they make even worse leaders.

I’ve known Alan Davis for 11 years. I’ve seen his work ethic, dedication to his family and service to our community. Our families have picked huckleberries, sat around the firepit and watched football together. He is conscientious, fair and very, very smart. Whether he has a title or not, Alan is a leader. He is exactly the type of man we can all be proud to call mayor.

Roger Saterfiel is 100% pure, old-school North Idaho. Talk to him for five minutes and you get it. He’s the guy who will spend his time helping his neighbor, not bragging about what a great guy he is. While those “me first” types are trying to push their way to the front of the table, Roger is the guy who built the table. He’s served on city council 16 years, and he has done an excellent job.

I know life is busy, but please make it a priority to cast an informed vote Tuesday, Nov. 7. If you live in Hayden, vote Davis and Saterfiel. Let’s keep North Idaho a place we can continue to be proud to call home.
