Police Foundation fundraising for fallen PF officer's family
POST FALLS – When Post Falls Police Officer Nicholas McDaniel died Oct. 22, the world stopped turning for his young family.
He left behind his fiancé and children, as well as parents, siblings and many extended family members. He also left behind family members who wear blue to work every day— his law enforcement family.
"In honor of a great officer and a great human being, his law enforcement family is proud to announce various fundraising efforts that will directly assist his fiancé and children as they try and learn to live without Nick," the Post Falls Fraternal Order of Police Foundation said in a news release Monday.
The foundation is the charitable arm of the Post Falls Fraternal Order of Police, which is made up of police officers who work for the cities of Post Falls, Rathdrum and Spirit Lake. The foundation has partnered with various businesses and charities to provide immediate support as well as support in the coming months. All foundation-endorsed fundraising efforts can be found at postfallsfop.org.
Proceeds from raffles, challenge coins, stickers, clothing and business specials will directly benefit the McDaniel family. The website is updated every day.
Raffle tickets will also be for sale at the front desk of the Post Falls Police Department starting Monday. Community partners include The Coeur d’Alene Resort, White House Grill, Coeur d’Alene Casino, Super 1 Foods and more.
Send emails to nuhrig@postfallsfop.org to donate.
"On behalf of those in blue here in North Idaho and on the big island of Hawaii, thank you for supporting the family of our brother Officer Nicholas McDaniel," the foundation said.
