Brenda Ruth Shaffer, 71

Brenda Ruth Shaffer, 71, lived in Hayden Lake, Idaho. She passed Sept. 10, 2022, peacefully at home. She was born in Oklahoma with her parents, Ralph and Alma Kirk. She grew up in Glendale, Calif., and attended Hoover High School. On Sept. 9, 1967, she married Bill Shaffer.

Brenda Shaffer will be remembered as a beautiful woman. She met and married the love of her life. Bill and Brenda had two sons and celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary before she passed.

She had the “Shaffer” smile that her children and grandchildren are known for. She loved her family and friends and liked hosting parties and events. She was a great gourmet cook and enjoyed baking desserts, making holiday pies, and birthday cakes.

She had a love for gardening and arranging flowers. She worked and ran her small business at the farmers market in Hayden for many years. Another talent she had was crafting home décor and gifts family will cherish. Brenda and Bill traveled over the years visiting Hawaii and seeing most Islands her favorite was the Big Island.

Brenda was stubborn yet patient she taught us to be strong, independent, resourceful, to be adventurous, and take time for sunsets.

Brenda leaves behind husband Bill Shaffer; son Bill Shaffer Jr., wife Dawn Shaffer; grandchildren Rashell Hoss, husband Jacob Hoss and Dylan Shaffer, wife Alexanne Shaffer; great-grandchild Carson Hoss; son Chris Shaffer, wife Joanna Shaffer; grandchildren Tirinni Lillemo, husband Rylan Lillemo, John Shaffer, Jesse Shaffer, Levi Shaffer and Reese Shaffer; great-grandchildren Jagger and Sylas Lillemo; brother Jimmy Kirk, wife Joelle Kirk; niece Jennifer Malcolm; sister Debbie Freeman; nephew Shawn Line, wife Sandra Line; great-nephews Hayden and Dylan Line; nephew Patrick Line, wife Dawn Line.

Celebration of life for Brenda will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Bill and Dawn Shaffer’s home in Dalton Gardens.
