Our beautiful mother, Jennie Mae Boyd, passed peacefully in her sleep May 18, 2023. She was the only child born to Helen and Roy Ulysses Boyd in Omaha, Neb., on Nov. 11, 1925, where she was raised until her teenage life. She met the love of her life and married Antone J. Gettler in 1945. They raised three daughters in San Jose, Calif. Later in life, she moved to Omaha to be with her family. After her father passed she moved back to Coeur d’Alene with her mother Helen by her side in 1991 to be with her daughters and grandchildren.

Mother could never sit still without doing something either playing Solitaire or crocheting doilies for family and friends. During the spring and summer months, she loved spending time outside working in her yard. When not by herself daughter Linda and mom would play Scrabble several times a week, on Fridays they would go out to dinner and later stop in the Corner Bar & Sunset Taverns for entertainment. There she played a heck of a pool game at the age of 94 with friends. She maintained her home and yards until she passed. She was an immaculate house cleaner, her yards were always manicured to the seasons. Mom loved to cook, bake and share them with family and friends, she had a great sense of humor. Mother will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her, the memories will always be in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roy U. Boyd, on Jan. 20, 1982, husband Anton Gettler on Oct. 10, 1984, mother Helen Boyd on Aug. 8, 1995, granddaughter Debora Solusky on May 6, 2002, and youngest daughter Cynthia Kay Baldwin on May 1, 2019.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Mitchell Coeur d’Alene and Sandra Ferrell (Randy) Hayden, seven grandchildren, Kimberly (Tim) Johnson, Terrie (David) Cascio, Cheryl (Rob) Hunt, Michelle Solusky, Bobby Jr. Fleeman, Sheila McLaughlin and Ricky (Amber) Baldwin, 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Mom will be buried at St. Thomas Cemetery in Cd'A on May 24, 2023, later there will be a celebration of a life well-lived.
