POST FALLS - Two people were arrested after a Kootenai County Sheriff's deputy checked on a suspicious vehicle today in Post Falls.

Bryce J. Hames, 34, and Gabriela Ibarra, 42, both of Spokane, were taken into custody when a probable-cause search turned up about 4.8 ounces of methamphetamine, a loaded firearm, digital scale and additional paraphernalia, according to a press release.

Both suspects were booked into jail, Hames for trafficking methamphetamine and Ibarra for possession of methamphetamine and two counts of possession of paraphernalia.

The press release said a deputy saw a vehicle running but unoccupied in the 4200 block of Expo Parkway early this morning.

"The deputy also noticed the ignition of the vehicle to be altered, which gave suspicion that the vehicle may have been stolen," the release said.

Deputies found marijuana and associated paraphernalia after a search of the vehicle with a K-9. The occupants of the vehicle were then located and arrested.
