Gina Rae Winn, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully May 11, 2023.

Born in Portland, Ore., and raised in St. Maries, Idaho, Gina's life was a testament to resilience, strength and love. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and joy that will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Gina met the love of her life, Kenneth Winn, at her sister Debbie's wedding, and they embarked on a remarkable journey together. They shared 36 years of marriage, filled with countless memories and a deep bond of love. Their union blessed them with two children, Justine Henderson and Brett Winn, who were a constant source of pride and joy for Gina. Gina adored her role as a grandmother and found immense delight in the lives of her three grandchildren. Their laughter and playfulness brought her immense happiness, and she cherished every moment spent with them. In addition to her own children and grandchildren, Gina embraced her stepchildren, John Womble and Russell Winn, and fostered a warm and loving relationship with them.

Throughout her life, Gina faced various challenges with unwavering strength and determination. She was a true fighter and survivor, never letting adversity dampen her spirit. Known for her tough yet compassionate nature, Gina approached life with a positive and bubbly demeanor that touched the hearts of those around her. She possessed an infectious joy that could brighten any room and a fun-loving nature that made her company highly sought after.

Gina's interests and hobbies brought her great pleasure. She found solace in walking her beloved dog, Finn, nurturing her garden and indulging in the beauty of bird watching. One of her favorite pastimes was watching old movies with her husband, Kenneth, creating cherished memories and sharing laughter together.

Prior to her retirement in 2015 due to illness, Gina dedicated several years of her life as a teacher's aide in the Post Falls School District. Her impact on the lives of countless children and colleagues is immeasurable, and her compassionate nature made her an invaluable asset to the education community.

Gina was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bonnie Collingwood. She is survived by her adoring husband, Kenneth Winn, who stood by her side through thick and thin. Gina also leaves behind her children, Justine and Brett, and her three grandchildren, Jax, Xander, and Maddox, who will forever carry her spirit with them. She is survived by her twin sister, Tina Young of St. Maries, as well as nine other siblings, Kenda Pangallo, Jim Collingwood, Charla Collingwood, Chris Hill, Brenda Cox, Don Collingwood, Cheryl Hall, Jeff Collingwood and Debbie Phelps, all of whom were an integral part of Gina's life.

Gina's unwavering faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life. It provided her with strength, guidance, and a never-ending source of joy, even in the face of pain and suffering. She had an extraordinary ability to empathize with the hurting and lonely, always rooting for the underdog and offering compassion to those in need.
