Submissions sought for Cd'A public art program
COEUR d'ALENE — The Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission is seeking submissions for its ArtCurrents program.
Artists can submit applications for placement of their sculptures around downtown Coeur d’Alene, Riverstone and Atlas Waterfront Park for a year, with an option to renew for a second year.
The displayed works should be created and displayed with the intention of selling within the year, with the city receiving a 25% commission from the sale, a press release said.
The Arts Commission has set a maximum price for each piece at $15,000.
The selected artists or artists teams will be paid a stipend of $1,000 for the first year. A second stipend of $1,000 may be paid at the start of the second year, should the commission choose to retain the piece.
ArtCurrents seeks those who "capture the spirit and atmosphere of the environment in which we live."
Pieces submitted should reflect themes or interpretations of the Northwest.
Applications must be received through www.callforentry.org by July 3.
