VOTE: Follow your principles

| May 17, 2023 1:00 AM

First let us remember governments are instituted and derive their just powers from the consent of the governed.

Let us remember also that the right to keep and bear arms has not been sufficiently infringed to prohibit the people from establishing a well-regulated militia.

Let us remember too that whenever any form of government becomes destructive, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government.

Elections. In the words of Dan English: Go Vote, but not because Uncle Dan, who knows better how government works, tells you to vote for Candidate X.

Do you have pornography or drugs on the littles’ shelves in your house? Vote for someone that doesn’t either.

The best political advice is to vote for someone with the same principles as you; make your vote count by calling them, introduce yourself as a constituent and voice your support or opposition on bills. Research candidates and make your own choice; Uncle Dan’s “I’ve been around the block, trust me” is preparatory to being fleeced.
