Highway and hospital district election results
Residents cast votes Tuesday for commissioner candidates in highway district races across Kootenai County, and for Kootenai Hospital District trustee positions.
Here are the results:
LAKES HIGHWAY DISTRICT COMMISSIONER SUB-DISTRICT 3
Steve Adams won the Lakes Highway District commissioner race in Sub-district 3. Adams received 9,551 votes (53%), while his opponent Michael Curry received 8,359 (46%).
POST FALLS HIGHWAY DISTRICT COMMISSIONER SUB-DISTRICT 3
Glen E. Heape defeated Lynn Humphreys 6,826 votes to 5,786 votes.
WORLEY HIGHWAY DISTRICT COMMISSIONER SUB-DISTRICT 1
Phil Cooper won the Worley Highway District commissioner race in Sub-district 1. Cooper received 1,504 votes (63.7%), while his opponent Ron Hartman received 857 (36.3%).
KOOTENAI HOSPITAL DISTRICT TRUSTEE
Three candidates ran for two open seats on the Kootenai Hospital District Board of Trustees, with the two who received the most votes winning the race.
Chris Nordstrom and Thomas deTar won the seats, garnering 36% and 32% of the vote respectively.
“I’d like to thank the community for its continued support and I will do my best to make Kootenai Health an outstanding hospital with the best possible care for all our citizens and visitors,” deTar said Tuesday.
The third candidate, Paul Mahlow, received 31% of the vote.
“As this phase of the process moves to completion, our efforts will continue to seek the best outcomes for our community,” Mahlow said.
