Restoration Partnership asks public for project ideas

| May 11, 2023 1:00 AM

The Restoration Partnership is soliciting natural resource restoration project ideas from the public until June 1.

“The Restoration Partnership is excited about this second round of project idea solicitation since 2019,” Coeur d’Alene Tribe restoration coordinator Rebecca Stevens said. “We look forward to seeing what the residents of the Coeur d’Alene Basin have in mind for protecting and restoring natural resources that have been injured from nearly 150 years of historic mine waste contamination that resides in our precious streams, wetlands and Coeur d’Alene Lake.”

The partnership is asking for project ideas from people, businesses or organizations, that meet the goals and objectives outlined in the Restoration Plan.

Visit the partnership’s website at restorationpartnership.org to download the Project Idea Form and view pertinent documents.

Trustees for the partnership will review and rank project ideas over a two-week review period. Once a project idea is selected, winners will be chosen to submit full applications. Email any questions to info@restorationpartnership.org and someone will get back to you.

The Restoration Partnership is made up of representatives from the state of Idaho (Idaho Department of Fish and Game and Idaho Department of Environmental Quality), the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, the U.S. Department of the Interior (Fish and Wildlife Service and Bureau of Land Management) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (Forest Service).
