CDA SCHOOL LEVY: Vote yes

Please vote in favor on May 16 for the educational levy.

Taxpayers will see an average increase of only $6 per month on our property taxes. This is a wise investment in our city’s children.

If the May levy fails, class sizes in our schools would increase by about 10 students per class. As a teacher I can guarantee you that this will have a catastrophic effect on student achievement, student enjoyment of school and teacher job satisfaction.

It would be a tremendous tragedy if our local kids could no longer have PE or music or art classes, or school sports. These opportunities are why many kids like school and find community.

Most sadly for my own kids, who really love their school, Ramsey Elementary is under consideration for closing down entirely if the May levy fails.

I love my community and I want its children to have the same educational opportunities I had for school, music and sports. This town has had a levy in place since the year I was born, 1986.

Please vote Yes on May 16 to support local kids and teachers.
