| May 3, 2023 1:00 AM

Paul C. Conger left to meet his Father in heaven April 29, 2023, leaving behind his wife of 23 years, Teddy.

He was born in West Stockholm, N.Y., to Nina and Orrealious Conger. He had three brothers, Harold (deceased), Jerry (deceased), and Phillip. He enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed at Fairchild AFB in Spokane, Wash., where he met and married Della Lynn (deceased 1996). They had four children: Steven (Maureen), Dennis (Judy), Ken (Terry), Tammy Hardaway (Mike) and stepdaughter Sue Shook (Gary). He had nine grandchildren: Rae-Lynn (Ryan), Jonathan, Matt (Sara), Hawley (Mitch), Ashley, Chelsea (James), Kelsey, Kyle and Trevor. Paul was blessed with five great-grandchildren and one on the way. He had numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul was a fireman in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, for 21 years. He achieved the rank of Captain before retiring in 1977 and then going to work for Coeur d’Alene Public Schools on their custodial staff. He retired from the school district in 1990.

Paul loved RVing and camping all over the U.S. He was lucky to have visited almost every state. He and his wife, Teddy, enjoyed spending winters in California, Nevada and Arizona. Yuma was one of his favorite spots. They enjoyed the caravan they took to Copper Canyon, Mexico, and the cruises around the Hawaiian Islands and Alaska. He was thrilled to take the train and get a beautiful view of Mount Denali. The real joy for Paul was family get-togethers, whether it was a holiday, birthday or a barbecue.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2023, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel, 744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene. A graveside service with honors will follow the funeral at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens, 7315 N. Government Way, Coeur d’Alene.
