Library candidate town hall Saturday

The League of Women Voters of Kootenai County will host a Community Library Network trustee election town hall from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 6, at the Post Falls American Legion, 1138 E. Poleline Ave.

All four candidates running for seats in the May 16 library trustee election have been invited to participate: Judy Meyer, Regina McCrea, Tom Hanley and Tim Plass.

This election governs all libraries in communities across Kootenai County, except for the Coeur d'Alene Public Library.

Patrick D. Costello, emeritus law professor at the University of Idaho and chief judge of the Colville Tribe, will moderate the debate. Candidates will be given opportunities to make opening statements. Each will be given three minutes to answer questions, with a maximum of three rebuttals of one minute each.

League member and American Association of University Women member Darlene Sheldon will be present to chat about the days when she was a founding trustee of what is now known as the Community Library Network.

Doors open at 9:30 a.m. Coffee and refreshments will be served.
