Fire destroys structures at Gozzer Ranch
Two residential buildings at Gozzer Ranch Golf Club and Resort were destroyed in a Monday night fire.
No one was injured, East Side Fire District officials reported Tuesday.
Around 11 p.m., 17 East Side firefighters responded to a structure fire and found a newly constructed, nearly complete 6,200-square-foot single-family residence fully engulfed. A second structure, an alternative living unit/garage, was also involved. Firefighters battled the fire for several hours before bringing it under control and extinguishing the flames.
No other residences were involved or threatened. Both are considered a total loss. The estimated cost of the residence is well over $3 million.
"The team’s fire attack was well-executed. It drives home the importance of why we train as we do," East Side Fire Chief Jerry Lynn said. "I am very proud of our volunteers."
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is under investigation.
