'Walk for Autism' set for April 8 at fairgrounds
COEUR d'ALENE — The Autism Society North Idaho is celebrating Autism Acceptance Month in April by hosting the "Walk for Autism Acceptance" on April 8 at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds. The walk will begin at 10 a.m.
Individuals and teams can walk up to a mile or more if they wish.
An Easter egg hunt, food trucks, vendors and music will be part of the fun.
There will also be a silent auction and prizes. T-shirts will be available for $20.
ASNI provides information and resources, workshops, support groups and training events to those working with individuals on the autism spectrum.
Autism is a developmental disability, with one in 36 children in the United States receiving a diagnosis, a press release said.
