REGAN: Supports fascism and totalitarianism
Brent Regan considers himself the smartest guy in the room. In reality, he’s a legend in his own mind. As a veteran, I’m appalled by his absurd assertion (Feb. 3 Dueling Realities) that equates anti-fascism with the KKK. My father, probably your father, and most of this nation’s fathers and grandfathers fought against fascism as embodied by Hitler and Mussolini in World War II. On what planet, Brent, is it bad or wrong to be opposed to fascism? You really are the prince of absurd reframing and preposterous equivocation, dodging, doublespeak and anti-community rhetoric.
Because you are a fascist, you would reframe fascism and make those against it the bad guys. You’re a fascist (not a Republican) — a far-right, authoritarian characterized by dictatorial leadership. Fascism rejects democracy and advocates for a totalitarian one-party state. Fascism’s extreme authoritarianism manifests in a belief in racism, bigotry and so-called racial purity. Thus, you loved the idea of bringing bigot Marjorie Taylor Green to Coeur d’Alene.
Fascism rejects the idea that violence is inherently bad. You thrive in an environment where citizens are intimidated by guns, where the rule of law is not respected, where public institutions like schools and libraries are destroyed, and where public civility is abandoned. The fact is, you’re OK with what’s happening at NIC (see Feb. 24 — NIC Reframe). As a fascist/culture warrior, what you care about is power, money and the sound of your own voice. You and your acolytes have zero interest in rational, effective governance.
