McCrea announces launch of library board re-election campaign
Regina McCrea has announced her re-election campaign for the Community Library Network board of trustees.
“I am proud of the work I have done as a library board trustee, but there is still much more to do to support our communities as they grow and change,” McCrea said, in a news release.
Regina McCrea first became a trustee for the library board in 2016 and won re-election the following year. She is a partner in the Coeur d’Alene law firm of Owens, McCrea & Linscott.
McCrea resides in Post Falls and has been married for more than 25 years to her husband, Ryan, a licensed independent clinical social worker. They have two children, both of whom attend North Idaho STEM Charter Academy.
In addition to her service as a CLN trustee, McCrea holds a leadership position in the Idaho Trial Lawyers and participates in the Coeur d’Alene Women in Business. Other community service endeavors include eight years with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Inland Northwest and six years with the Coeur d’Alene Arts & Culture Board.
“As a library trustee, Regina McCrea maintains a strong focus on empowering librarians and families,” the release said.
“This means ensuring all our libraries provide a broad range of materials and programs in support of the varied interests of their patrons. It means supporting librarians and staff in their service to our communities, as well as respecting the individual rights of all parents and educators in our community,” said the release. “As a trustee, McCrea approaches decision-making in a way that targets fiscal responsibility, patron autonomy and adoption of common-sense policies.”
McCrea said in the release that she loves living, working and raising her family in North Idaho.
“Serving as a library trustee and being able to use my legal expertise and professional skills to give back to this wonderful community is a true honor,” she said. “And I remain deeply committed to fulfilling the roles and responsibilities of the position.”
