SCHOOL LEVIES: Vote yes

| March 10, 2023 1:00 AM

They are our schools, provided by us for our children and grandchildren. We are responsible for them. We cannot just drop out of taking care of them. We elected good people to be on school boards and be responsible for the education of our youth. Our board members have dedicated themselves to making sure our schools are maintained. They try to run them like a business. However, no business can be successful without the resources to plan for the future.

The state of Idaho has a constitutional duty to provide those resources. For many years, the state of Idaho has failed in its duty because it refuses to build badly needed new schools relying on the local community to build and maintain the buildings. Consequently, for generations local districts have had to run bonds for buildings and levies to maintain the buildings, provide sports programs and a great variety of other student services.

Idaho ranks almost last in annual per pupil spending among the 50 states, yet it is in the middle of the states with regard to the academic success of its students. Our teachers are doing an outstanding job. Our board, administration and teachers are successful but they need your help to be able to continue to succeed. Vote YES on the bonds and levies in our area. Give our boards and teachers a chance to continue to succeed for our children.
