CDA SCHOOL LEVIES: Vote no
Do you care about your voting rights? If you answer yes, then vote no on the Coeur d’Alene School District supplemental “forever-levy.” The district will avoid all accountability on how they spend your money, as this levy will forever appear on your tax statement. We will be locking our children and grandchildren into this $25-million expenditure every year forever. A nice little gift to them when they become homeowners or renters. This levy takes away a child’s future voting privilege-forever!
This is a nonpartisan issue. It is a voting rights issue. It is an issue about maintaining local control of your schools. If voted down, another levy can be run in August and would hopefully not contain the “poison pill.” Two of the school trustees opposed the “Forever” component of the levy. Both trustees care deeply about education, but also care about the rights of the citizens.
Please vote on March 14. Early voting has begun at the election’s office.
