Country time at Wine, Stein and Dine

| March 2, 2023 1:00 AM

Guests will say "Yee haw!" and kick up their cowboy boots from 7-10 p.m. Saturday during Wine, Stein and Dine: Country Style in the Jacklin Building at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds.

Attendees will enjoy tasting a variety of selections from more than 85 local vendors and restaurants providing wine, microbrews and hard ciders, as well as hot and cold appetizers and desserts, live music by Bill Bozly and the Country Dawgs, a video photo booth, silent auction and wine tree raffle.

"It’s a community event and it’s a great way to get to see your friends, people you haven't seen for a long time," Post Falls Education Foundation board member Val Wilcox said Wednesday. "This is a good time to get together and enjoy yourself."

Wine, Stein and Dine serves as a benefit for the Post Falls Education Foundation, a nonprofit independent of the Post Falls School District that supports teachers and enhances program development for all grade levels in the district. In the past 25 years, the foundation has raised over $715,000 that has gone directly to classroom educators and counselors through grant requests. About 100 grants are awarded each year for creative and innovative classroom curriculum, special projects and books, along with technology-related needs. Projects supported by past grants include exploring countries, geometry clinometers, engaging students in science and social studies, fun with force, motion and magnets, chemistry labs and robotics designing and coding.

“The teachers work so hard each year to prepare their classrooms with materials and the things they need," Wilcox said. "We want to be there for them."

Wine, Stein and Dine is in its 26th year. The event is in a new location this year after previously being held at the Greyhound Park and Event Center.

Tickets are $45 and include all food and beverages. Purchase them online at pfefwsd.org or at these locations: Super 1 Foods, Washington Trust Bank, Yoke's, Mountain West Bank, Columbia Bank, the Post Falls School District office, Post Falls Chamber of Commerce, First Interstate Bank and Sawmill Grille and Spirits.
