John Wallace Orvik, 65

John Orvik left this Earth on June 2, 2023. He was 65. He was the only son of Wally and Alene Orvik. He spent his first 11 years in Spokane, Wash. He and his family moved to Moscow in 1968, when his dad purchased the Chevrolet dealership there.

John graduated from Moscow High Dchool in 1976. He went to the University of Idaho, graduating in 1980.

He worked at Wally Orvik Motors from junior high on through the mid-1990s. He worked in all departments through the years. His favorites are the Service and Parts departments.

John purchased a home and moved to Post Falls in the late '90s. He worked at Coeur d’Alene Tractor behind the parts counter for well over 20 years. He also enjoyed working at North 40 in Coeur d’Alene for a few years.

He moved to Worley, Idaho, in 2017 to a home on the lake.

John loved to ski. Water skiing in the summer and snow skiing in the winter. He loved driving his boat up and down the lake. And he loved his dogs, they went everywhere with him. First Charlie, then Ozzie.

He is survived by his sister, Shelley (Rodney) Dale, as well as two aunts and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be a memorial service for John at Trinity Lutheran Church in Coeur d’Alene on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. A reception will follow.
