Emerge Block Party to lift local art

| June 23, 2023 1:00 AM

Emerge Gallery will bring together 145 visual, film and performance artists from the community to celebrate Coeur d’Alene’s creativity. The 10th annual Block Party will fill the gallery and spill into the streets from 5 p.m. to midnight July 14 at 119 N. Second St.

The exhibition will feature over 300 pieces, with contributions from schools, businesses and art collectives throughout the region. Pieces were selected for the show by a panel of professional artists and members of the community.

The gallery event will include art displays, a film room, an interactive art space, a bar and a large outdoor performance stage with a full lineup of local musicians.

The show is also one of Emerge’s annual fundraisers and proceeds from art and merchandise sales, donations, bar proceeds and community sponsorships will help fund arts education.

A beer garden, taco trucks and other food and drinks will be available for purchase.

For advanced access to see or buy the featured art, Emerge is also selling tickets to a Block Party preview party for $25 at emerge-cda.myshopify.com.

The early bird access party will include live performances from regional musicians and bands, aerial performers, immersive art rooms, dances, poetry performances and fire spinners from 6 to 9 p.m. July 13 — without the nearly 4,500 people expected to attend the Block Party.
