COEUR d'ALENE - A 21-year-old Coeur d'Alene man convicted of lewd conduct with a minor under 16 was sentenced Tuesday.

Darrell Lee Moore received a 15-year sentence that was suspended for four years of probation by District Judge Barbara Duggan.

In early 2023, Moore committed a lewd or lascivious act upon or with the body of a 14-year-old girl by having genital-genital contact with the minor child, according to a press release from the Kootenai County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

Lewd conduct with a minor under 16 is a felony punishable by up to life in prison.

Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Molly Nivison recommended a 15-year prison sentence with parole eligibility after four years.

Prosecuting Attorney Stanley T. Mortensen thanked Criminal Chief Deputy Laura McClinton for prosecuting the case and the Coeur d’Alene Police Department for investigating the case.
