MORE WISDOM: Parents would do well to teach our kids

| June 14, 2023 1:00 AM

Don’t judge folks by their relatives.

When you buy cheap products, you get just what you pay for.

Sometimes you get, sometimes you get got.

In the end your self-importance is like putting your finger in a pail of water and seeing the hole it leaves as you withdraw it.

Don’t judge a person by the car they drive or clothes they wear.

Fill up the back of the shovel. The front will take care of itself. (from my Dad)

We have seasons of blessings and then it changes.

Don’t badmouth the person who signs your paycheck.

Don’t take advantage of another just because you can.

Treat others as you want to be treated.

The forgiven are to be forgiving.

Don’t think too much of yourself — or too little.

Honesty really is the best policy.

Guard your tongue. It can get you into a heap of grief.

Kind words of encouragement and praise are powerful and life lasting.

The harder you work, the luckier you’ll get.

You cannot out give God. Just try!

If you borrow an item, return it. If you break it, replace it.

Give everyone a firm handshake and look them in the eye.

Don’t say anything about a person behind their back that you can’t say to their face (includes relatives).

Watch your pennies. The dollars will take care of themselves. (from my Dad)

It really is best to obey speed limits. Officers ALWAYS appear out of nowhere.

Good intentions and broken promises are pathways to failure and shame.

Heaven’s Kingdom has only one key and Jesus holds it.
