OnPointe to present survey results to Hayden City Council

| June 12, 2023 1:06 AM

COEUR d’ALENE — Results from a city-wide survey will be presented to the Hayden City Council at 5 p.m Tuesday at Hayden City Hall, 8930 N. Government Way.

The survey, conducted by OnPointe Insights, was sent to Hayden residents to get feedback from as many people as possible on what residents value.

Of the 1,179 people who responded to the survey, 51% think that Hayden is moving in the right direction. And nearly all respondents ranked their neighborhood as a good place to live, but the survey pinpoints some key areas for improvement.

Some topics that were important to people, but rated below expectations include city growth and density, traffic flow, residential growth, and quality of transportation, OnPointe said in the summary report.

The survey results will guide the council’s decisions by providing insight into public opinion.

For example, the community supports a community center, rejects irresponsible growth, but also supports a variety of housing types for affordable and diverse housing options.

The council can navigate planning decisions based on community feedback from the survey.

The full results of the survey will be available in a portal on the city’s website following the report. The community and city staff will be able to navigate the report results and use data filters to understand and interpret how people responded in the city.
