Carr, a freshman, won the state 3A girls 800-meter dash in 2 minutes, 18.13 seconds on May 20 at Middleton High. Carr was also second in the 1,600 and ran a leg of the school’s third-place sprint medley relay. “Annabelle ran a tactically phenomenal race in the 800,” Coeur d’Alene Charter coach Gordon Smith said. “She’s a tremendously coachable athlete and extremely knowledgeable about track and field. She’s an amazing athlete.”
