Abi's Ice Cream launches cool cookbook
Art Spirit Gallery to host a book launch for Maren Scoggins new “Abi's Ice Cream Cookbook.” The book will include classic combinations from the ice cream parlor, all safe for people with tree nut allergies.

Author and former owner of Abi’s Ice Cream Maren Scoggins and her family will celebrate the launch of her new cookbook, "Abi's Ice Cream: The Cookbook" featuring 44 fan-favorite flavors, from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Art Spirit Gallery in downtown Coeur d’Alene.
Retiring in 2022, Scoggins continued to create recipes and concoctions for her daughter Abi, who has a tree nut allergy and can’t consume many types of the chilled desserts.
“When you get a kid or adult who has never had ice cream before, they cry and they are so happy,” Scoggins said. “It is very gratifying.”
Now anyone can recreate Abi’s ice cream at home with the new cookbook. The launch will include a book signing, ice cream and a champagne toast at the gallery.
Open from 2016 to 2022, Abi’s Ice Cream created in-house recipes and made its ice creams, sorbets and treats fresh each day.
Scoggins will give a presentation about the book at 6:30 p.m.
