Ward Wyvill Stewart, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away June 16, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of the dedication of love and remarkable achievements. Born on October 20, 1935, in Hibbing, Minn., Ward was the son of Herbert and Betty Stewart. He cherished the memories of his childhood, especially the hunting and fishing trips he embarked on with his parents and boyhood friends, which instilled in him a deep appreciation for nature and the great outdoors.

In pursuit of his academic aspirations, Ward graduated from Northrop Institute in August 1955. With an unwavering passion for the aerospace industry, he embarked on a fulfilling career that would span decades. Ward played an integral role in the development of the groundbreaking YF-17 aircraft, contributing his expertise and dedication to its success. His commitment to his craft and remarkable leadership skills led him to rise through the ranks, ultimately becoming a vice president at Northrop Grumman, a testament to his exemplary work ethic and unwavering commitment.

Amidst his professional achievements, Ward's personal life flourished with love and happiness. It was at the First Methodist Church in Gardena, Calif., he met the love of his life, Martha. Their connection was instantaneous, and their first date, spent at the beach, laid the foundation for a lifelong love story. On October 28, 1956, they exchanged vows, promising to support and cherish one another through all the joys and challenges that life would bring.

Ward's true joy in life came from his role as a devoted husband, a loving father, and a doting grandfather. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Martha, who stood by his side through thick and thin, sharing a bond that surpassed the boundaries of time. His legacy lives on through his two daughters, Susan (Jeff) Hamer and Jill (Dan) Tesulov, who were the center of his world. Ward's immense love extended to his four grandchildren, Wesley (Kate), Russell (Jaclyn), Brandon (Kelsey) and Aron (Anna), who were blessed to have him as a guiding presence in their lives. Additionally, he leaves behind six great-grandchildren, Joelle, Mila, Verity, Greyson, Avery and Kennedy.

Ward will be remembered as a kind-hearted and dedicated man who pursued excellence in every aspect of his life. His unwavering love for his family and his passion for his work and his Lord. His remarkable contributions to the aerospace industry and the love he shared with those closest to him will forever remain etched in the hearts and minds of all who were touched by his presence.
