The Kootenai County Young Professionals' Top 30 Under 40 award nominations open Aug. 1.
"There is a lot of great talent here in Kootenai County and a lot of individuals that deserve to be showcased for the efforts they put in — both personally and professionally," KCYP said in a Friday news release.
Determined by an independent panel of community members, the award is an opportunity to showcase the success of young people around the county.
Top 30 Under 40 Committee Chairs Sydney Stinson and Asa Wolfe urge community members to “think outside the box” when they make their nominations. A "professional" is a custodian of a chosen industry who maintains and elevates the level of service and care given to clients within that industry or profession.
The Top 30 Under 40 is geared toward individuals who are professionals in their chosen industries, but who are also making strides toward fostering the professional community of Kootenai County as a whole.
"This award is an amazing opportunity for community members to highlight individuals who are exemplary in their field," Wolfe said. "It could be the carpet cleaning tech who showed up on time, walked you through the cleaning process, and checked in with you before you left, or the CPA who worked extra hours to get the tax return done on short notice."
Wolfe said Kootenai County is experiencing an increase in the population of professionals.
"Fostering a community isn’t easy, so we want to highlight those who are putting above and beyond effort to help Kootenai County grow," Wolfe said.
Competition judging will take place in October with winners announced in early November. The 2023 Top 30 Under 40 winners will be celebrated Jan. 27 during Elevate, an elegant, black-tie event. Top 30 winners will receive bragging rights, trophies and other tokens of appreciation from the community!
Nominations will be accepted through Sept. 15.
