LITTLE LEAGUE (12U)
News flash — Coeur d’Alene gave up a run, its first run of the postseason, as Sandpoint scored in the top of the first inning on Saturday at Croffoot Park in Hayden.
But it was all Coeur d’Alene from there, as Cd’A rolled to an 11-1 victory in four innings to sweep the best-of-3 series for the District 1 title 2 games to 0.
Coeur d’Alene won the opener 14-0 on Friday night.
Coeur d’Alene will play North Boise this weekend in a best-of-3 series for the state title. Games are Friday and Saturday, and Sunday if necessary.
The winner advances to the Northwest Regional in San Bernardino, Calif., Aug. 5-10.
Coeur d’Alene outscored its opponents 110-1 in eight district tourney games.

Post Falls downed Lewiston on Saturday at Croffoot Park in Hayden to square their best-of-3 series for the District 1 title at one game apiece.
The deciding game is today at 9:30 a.m.
Lewiston won the opening game 5-4 on Friday.
10U
Lewiston defeated the Coeur d’Alene Black on Saturday at Croffoot Park in Hayden to sweep the best-of-3 series for the District 1 title.
Lewiston won Game 1 10-9 on Friday.
Lewiston advances to state next weekend in Boise.
INTERMEDIATE
Ian Tandy hit a two-run single to put Post Falls ahead to stay at 15-14, and Post Falls scored 11 runs in the top of the seventh inning to beat South Boise 20-17 on Saturday at Croffoot Park in Hayden to win the state championship.
Jerry Jones hit a two-run inside-the-park home run in the third inning for Post Falls, which won the best-of-3 series 2 games to 0.
Connor Gregory went 4 for 4 and drove in four runs for South Boise, which scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 14-9 lead.
Post Falls advances to the West Regional tournament in Nogales, Ariz.
Post Falls won the first game 16-6 on Friday.
SOFTBALL
LITTLE LEAGUE
West Valley of Eagle, Star and Middleton defeated Lewiston on Saturday at Lakeland High in Rathdrum to capture the state championship.
West Valley won the best-of-3 series two games to one. On Friday, Lewiston won the first game 7-6 and West Valley won the second game 9-4.
