Grove climbs leaderboard with 63 in second round of Rosauers
SPOKANE — PGA Professional Conner Robbins of North Shore Golf Course in Tacoma shot a 10-under-par 61 on Saturday to pull into a tie for the lead after two rounds of the 36th Rosauers Open Invitational at Indian Canyon Golf Course.
Robbins is at 14-under-par 128. PGA Professional Derek Berg of Pacific Northwest Golf Academy of Issaquah, Wash., who led by three shots after Friday’s first round, shot 6-under 65 on Saturday.
PGA Professional Colin Inglis of Shadow Hills Country Club in Junction City, Ore., the 2021 Rosauers champion, is two strokes back of the co-leaders heading into today’s final round.
North Idaho College men’s and women’s golf coach Russell Grove shot an 8-under 63 and is at 6-under 136, tied for 17th.
Other locals making the cut were Billy Bomar of Bomar Putting Company (71-71—142, even par), Austin Westphal of Avondale Golf Club (71-72—143, 1 over par), amateur Cole Jaworski, formerly of Coeur d’Alene High (71-72—143) and Trevor Fox of Golf Club at Black Rock (72-72—144, 2 over par).
