Robert White, 79

| July 14, 2023 1:00 AM

Robert “Bob” William White, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away in the early morning hours of June 25, 2023, at the age of 79. Bob was born in Spokane to George and Julia White.

Bob would have two children with his first wife, Christina, whom he affectionately called “Lovie,” and Cole, whom he quickly nicknamed “Gus.”

In 1975, Bob met his wife of 41 years, Carol Schaffer, and the couple welcomed their son into the world, Tim White. Bob and Carol created a life and shared so many memories together.

Bob was a motorhead through and through. He found his love of American steel at an early age and could be found most weekends at a car, motorcycle or gun show, reading magazines on these topics, or talking with friends over coffee about guns, cars, motorcycles or airplanes.

Bob enjoyed a good breakfast and flirting with the waitresses, something he did until the very end. He was the first person to teach his family the “Pay it Forward” behavior, graciously giving. His love language was gifts and he LOVED to give.

Bob “Pappy” is deeply missed. We were honored to have him as part of our story and to have been part of his.

Bob is survived by his wife, Carol, daughter Christina (Kevin) Kitchen of Billings, Mont., sons Cole (Colleen) White of Ronan, Mont., and Tim (Bailey) White of Post Falls, Idaho, and seven grandchildren (Emily, Cole, Kaitlin, Seth, Natalie, Allyson and Pyper) and one great-grandchild (Kolt). He is also survived by eight of his nine siblings (Jerry, Jim, Veronica, Isabel, Raymond, Bruce, Bill and Ben), and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his parents, George and Julia, and older sister Marilyn.

A celebration of the wonderous life Bob led will be held at the American Legion, 1138 E. Poleline, Post Falls, on July 23, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. We ask you, in lieu of cards, flowers or other sentiments, to tip, pay it forward or give of yourself to someone else. As a family, we have taken up the torch of doing our best to pay it forward.

Bell Tower Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
