LITTLE LEAGUE: District titles up for grabs this weekend

Three District 1 champions will be crowned in Little League baseball this weekend, one state champ will be crowned in baseball, and a state champion will be determined in Little League softball.

Here’s the rundown:

BASEBALL

LITTLE LEAGUE

Coeur d’Alene and Sandpoint will face off in a best-of-3 series for the 12U District 1 championship at Croffoot Park in Hayden. Games are today at 5:45 p.m., Saturday at noon and Sunday, if necessary, at noon.

The winner advances to the best-of-3 state playoffs vs. the District 2 champion on July 21-23, hosted by North Boise Little League.

11U

Post Falls and Lewiston will meet in a best-of-3 series for the District 1 championship at Croffoot Park in Hayden. Games are today at 5:45 p.m., Saturday at noon and Sunday, if necessary, at 9:30 a.m.

The winner advances to the best-of-3 state playoffs vs. the District 2 champion on July 21-23, hosted by North Boise Little League.

10U

Coeur d’Alene Black and Lewiston will play in a best-of-3 series for the District 1 championship at Croffoot Park in Hayden. Games are today at 3 p.m., Saturday at 9:30 a.m. and Sunday, if necessary, at 9:30 a.m.

The winner advances to the best-of-3 state playoffs vs. the District 2 champion on July 21-23, hosted by North Boise Little League.

INTERMEDIATE

Post Falls and South Boise will play in a best-of-3 series for the state championship at Croffoot Park in Hayden. Games are today at 1 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday, if necessary, at 9 a.m.

The winner advances to the West Regional in Nogales, Ariz.

SOFTBALL

Lewiston and West Valley of Eagle, Star and Middleton will meet in best-of-3 series for the state championship at Lakeland High School in Rathdrum. Games are today at 1 and 3 p.m., and Saturday, if necessary, at 9 a.m.

The winner advances to the Western Regional in San Bernardino, Calif., July 22-28.
