Courtesy photo The Storm 2025 boys basketball team won the JV division at the Summer Slam tournament last weekend at the HUB Sports Center in Spokane Valley. The Storm beat Catch Spokane Force 79-29 and the Sandpoint JV 49-25 before losing to the Catch Spokane Mix 53-46. In the semifinal the Storm beat East Valley 76-22. The championship was a rematch with the Catch Spokane Mix, the Storm winning 45-32 to take the championship. Courtesy photo The Coeur d'Alene Little League 12U All-Star team went undefeated over two weekends of pool play to earn the No. 1 seed going into the District 1 best-of-3 championship series this weekend against Sandpoint. The winner advances to the best-of-3 state playoffs next weekend in Boise against the District 2 champion. Games this weekend, at Croffoot Park in Hayden, are Friday and Saturday, and Sunday in necessary. The Coeur d'Alene 12U All-Stars went 6-0 in pool play and outscored their opponents 85-0. Clay Larwin hit two home runs and Trent Lilyquist hit one for Coeur d'Alene in pool play. Bryce Petrella pitched a total of 12 innings, allowing five hits, walking two and striking out 30. The rest of the pitching staff ā€” Caleb Brumbach, Nash Russell, Rixton Bateman and Cooper Fordham ā€” combined for 13 innings and allowed three hits, walked seven and struck out 37.
