New Tractor Supply Company opens in Kellogg

KELLOGG — Having access to all the necessary supplies for every scenario can often be a struggle as you get farther away from the bigger cities, which is why the arrival of the Tractor Supply Company felt like a win for many residents in the Silver Valley.
Logan Moore lives in Pinehurst and now serves as the assistant store manager for the new Kellogg location.
“It will mean easy access for the Silver Valley. People won’t have to drive to Coeur d’Alene for supplies. I feel like that’s something that the Valley needs,” Moore said.
A release announcing the store opening listed hobby farmers, homeowners, livestock and pet owners, gardeners, ranchers and tradesmen among their customers. The store is billed as representing the “Out Here lifestyle.”
John Nearing, of Kingston, made sure to stop by the store during its grand opening Saturday to get an account set up for his two construction crews.
“The Valley needed this store, and look how many people it’s employing,” Nearing said.
In total, 35 jobs were created with the opening of the Kellogg store, and the additional source of local resources was heartily welcomed by the Historic Silver Valley Chamber of Commerce.
“I think having a national store in our town will bring more people to take advantage of the other positives in our area … hiking, biking, fishing and natural beauty,” Juli Zook, first vice president of the Historic Silver Valley Chamber of Commerce said. “We're thrilled to welcome Tractor Supply to our Valley. We welcome the beginnings of new opportunities, fostering economic growth and job creation in our region.”
Kayla Davault brought her children to check out the new location and shop for deals and was relieved to see the store open to get some time back on her future shopping trips.
“This way, I don’t have to go out of the way to get chicken supplies,” Davault said.
