FIREWORKS: Laws impossible to enforce

Regarding Barbara Roberts, et al, letter published July 7 “NEIGHBORHOOD FIREWORKS: Ordinance needed.” The ordinances you seek from the state are already on the books locally. Just Safe and Sane are allowed. As you can see by the massive amount of illegal fireworks on display, trying to enforce these laws is nearly impossible. People who pick and choose the laws they see fit to follow are like the driver who drives 45 in a 25 MPH speed zone. If the police aren’t around, it just doesn’t apply to them.
