Heartwood at Millworx community opens

A reenvisioned apartment and commercial community called Heartwood at Millworx is now on the old Idaho Veneer mill site at 910 W. Fourth Ave. in Post Falls.

The complex includes two apartment buildings with 61 two-bedroom-two-bathroom and one-bedroom-one-bathroom units. The two commercial spaces will include Shift Fitness (details below) and another available through Danny Davis at 208-691-6003.

Goldenwest Credit Union opens Monday

Offering complete financial services, Goldenwest Credit Union will open a new branch Monday in the former Bank of America building at 804 N. Henry St. in Post Falls.

Shift Fitness celebrates grand opening this week

Live group demonstrations and mini-seminars on nutrition and fitness will be offered at the grand opening of Shift Fitness next Saturday and Sunday at 910 E. Fourth Ave. (Suite B) in Post Falls.

The gym offers personal training, small group sessions, nutrition and mindset coaching meeting the needs and goals of individual members. Opening Tuesday with limited hours. After major opening, the hours will be 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The first 30 members will get 20% off.

• Commercial spaces on the first floor and 24 apartments on the second and third floors are planned for a new Appleway Quarter building planned for 281 E. Appleway (behind the existing Wellness Bar and Hometown Chiro building). Three of the four spots are temporarily reserved on the first floor with 5,000 square feet remaining. The apartments will include 16 two-bed, two-bath units and eight one-bed one-bath, all with access to a third-floor barbecue sun deck and private gym. • A new ambulatory surgery center is under construction by Northwest Specialty Hospital at 1624 E. Mullan Ave. directly east of its main campus at 1593 E. Polston Ave. in Post Falls. The 9,600-square-foot place will be used for surgeries that don't require overnight stays and will have two outpatient surgery rooms with options for future expansion. It should open in early 2024. • With buildings of 168,000 and 238,000 square feet, The Pointe at Post Falls should be complete in October on North Beck Road and Pointe Parkway. • New buildings under construction in Hayden include Lake Forest Interior Design (9245 Government Way) and Hayden Surgery Center (8552 Government Way).

• A commercial building with three suites is being constructed at 9041 N. Hess St. (just north of Walmart) in Hayden. • TownePlace Suites by Marriott Hotel is being built where the Outback Steakhouse was in the southeast corner of I-90 and Northwest Boulevard.

• A spy says a restaurant will be built where Atlas Road meets the Spokane River.

• Sebastian's Coffee & Pastry will be at 1114 W. Ironwood.

• Pilgrims Market will expand to a building across the street.

• A new pizza place will be in the former Syringa building on Fourth Street.

• Thanks to those who participated in the litter cleanup of Tubbs Hill. Among the "trash" found was a large assortment of unused major fireworks items.
