Roland Alexander "Alex" Williams-Pocklington, 28

| January 25, 2023 1:00 AM

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the passing of Roland Alexander (Alex) Williams-Pocklington. Alex was born Aug. 23, 1994, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to Shaun Williams and Daniel Pocklington. He left us Dec. 24, 2022, at 28 years old.

Alex was a lifelong resident of Coeur d’Alene and enjoyed many of the events and activities associated with our beautiful city. During his middle school years, he liked to skateboard and play football. He spent hours at the skate park, working on his fancy moves and spending time with his friends. During high school, he became interested in music, learning to play guitar and the drums. We recently heard he enjoyed singing karaoke. This came as a surprise to many of us, as Alex was often seen as shy by those who knew him. He graduated from Lake City High School in 2012. Alex was an incredibly smart, well spoken, funny young man who deeply loved his family.

For much of his adult life, Alex struggled with addiction. He tried several times to conquer these demons, but they always found a way to creep back into his world, and ultimately cost him his life.

He was a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin and grandson. “Your son, Alex, was one of the nicest gentlemen I’ve ever met” said Alex’s great-aunt Deannie Williams. His family will never be the same without him.

He leaves behind his parents, Shaun and Daniel; sisters Lauren and Adrien; grandparents Roland and Shari Williams; aunts Rona, Kathy, Shana, Don Don and Lori; uncles Tony, Greg and Stephen; nine nieces and nephews, Bryce, Daniel, Deacon, Roman Alexander, Kyle, Avery, Maya, Sean and Caroline. He also leaves behind numerous cousins including Lindsay, Carin and Caitlin, who have been a tremendous help and support to his mother during this difficult time. He is preceded in death by grandmothers Karen and Jeanne; grandfather Herb; and his beloved aunt, Kathy.

A celebration of life will be held later this summer. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the GoFundMe account: https://gofund.me/6c6d592c

Excess funds will be used to help others with addiction.

Please visit Alex’s online memorial and sign his guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
