NIC WRESTLING: Cardinals knock off Division II Simon Fraser
COEUR d’ALENE — Freshmen Kobi Johnson (125 pounds) and Kanai Tapia (149) notched wins by technical fall for North Idaho College, which beat Division II Simon Fraser of Burnaby, British Columbia, 28-15 at Christianson Gymnasium on Thursday night.
NIC, ranked 10th in the latest NJCAA poll released on Jan. 4, also got a pin from Brandon O’Brien in 23 seconds.
NIC is scheduled to host Clackamas, the top-ranked team in the NJCAA, tonight at 7.
