COMMUNITY: Being torn down by newer residents

| January 8, 2023 1:00 AM

Thanks Coeur d’Alene Press for not publishing on Mondays. It’s the one day of the week I’m not subjected to more stories of my hometown under attack.

There’s two kinds of people who move here; those who come to make it their home and be part of the community, and those who come to force their own personal political and religious agendas.

Mr. Regan, why did you move here? Feeling like a big shot now? Is it worth destroying a part of the country you don’t even care about? You’ve corrupted a once respectable Republican Party. I can’t understand how a person can lie as often as you can and even live with yourself. I can’t respect you in any way. To live lies is to let truth and integrity die. Your political shenanigans are textbook examples of corrupt propaganda. And when you list evil deeds in your repetitive columns, you are describing yourself.

Mr. Van Noy, why did you move here? It wasn’t about religion, it’s about your political agenda. Your “church” hosts and promotes some of the most vile political candidates in the PacNW. You conduct classes helping all the other mom and pop churches skate into politics as far as they can without loosing their tax free status. And the main aspect of your religion is teaching people to hate. Teaching children to hate. There is no more evil on the face of this Earth than those who teach children to hate. There’s a separation of church and state for a reason. You undermine that.

To the three knuckleheads hell bent on beating NIC down, what possible reason can you have for your actions? You disrespectful, arrogant scoundrels are some of the most loathsome miscreants to ever set foot in Kootenai County. Stop spitting in the face of our community. Step down before you destroy a beloved and valued local institution.

To all those folks supporting this cast of villains, because the majority of you are newbs, why did you move here? You can’t buy a “Local” bumper sticker and instantly become one, especially without making an effort. Stop telling us how Idaho should be. Stop trying to take everything over. Stop voting for those with bogus qualifications. You obviously don’t know or care about North Idaho, it’s history or the people who built it. Too bad we’re getting more of your ilk than the transplants who actually become positive members of our community. And there are countless examples. Maybe you could try to assimilate as well.

Six days a week I am saddened and heartbroken reading how my hometown is being trodden on by those who have no roots and no desire to do anything but push negativity on a onetime wonderful and friendly community. I don’t miss the Monday edition.
