NIC: Taxpayers, prepare to pay more for the college

| January 6, 2023 1:00 AM

Would you agree that men who steal the public’s treasure and violate its trust are some of the worst thieves of all? The actions of Todd Banducci, Greg McKenzie and Mike Waggoner, as NIC trustees, has proven there is no honor among thieves.

Is their abuse and their wanton spending your style of conservatism and republicanism? Does the parasitic, dysfunctional behavior of these three trustees satisfy your expectations of elected officials?

NIC had a decades-long stellar reputation and had financial stability, that is, until Banducci gained control of the trustee board. NIC is under a second Moody’s review for another potential multi-level downgrade. These downgrades will increase your taxes with no added or improved services.

After two years of doing so, we continue to pay the salary and the benefits to multiple presidents because of Banducci and his board toadies while we receive the services of one president. This situation shows a lack of fiduciary responsibility.

The KCRCC has brought a trail of misery and corruption to our elections. You have been betrayed by them — AGAIN! Righteous indignation is an appropriate response. You can’t make a silk purse from a sow’s ear.

The longstanding practice at NIC of not taking the allowed 3% tax increase has likely come to an end, while loss of accreditation is a glaring threat. Covering the cost of the multiple lawsuits that have been filed against Art Macomber, Banducci and their cohorts is also a bill on the county taxpayers. Get your checkbook out.
