Vanguard men's basketball

White, a 6-foot-4, 210 pound forward who played at North Idaho Christian and the Community Colleges of Spokane, was named the NAIA Golden State Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced. It is the second weekly award for White, who had 20 points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal in Vanguard's 84-68 win over British Columbia. It was his eighth 20-point game this season, and 18th of his career. White is second in the conference in scoring at 19.2 points per game. Vanguard is 8-5 on the season.

College of Idaho basketball

Riley, nee Soumas, a 5-foot-3 sophomore guard from Timberlake High, scored a career-high 25 points for the Yotes in a 79-34 win over Walla Walla in College Place, Wash., on Friday. College of Idaho is 8-5 on the season.
