KCRCC: Creators of turmoil tearing things down

| January 4, 2023 1:00 AM

Reading Brent Regan’s opinion columns would lead one to believe that he has all of the answers to all of the problems and issues that our community and country face. Under his leadership, the KCRCC and his devoted followers have created more turmoil in our community than anyone else since I’ve been a resident.

Board and council elections that were traditionally non-partisan have now become politicized. A church pastor attacks our school district as indoctrinating its students. School board meetings now need security to protect board members. City council meetings disrupted by rude behavior. Our library has been attacked for providing all types of books to its patrons. NIC which has been a very important part of our community is very close to losing its accreditation because of three KCRCC board members vetted specifically for their party purity.

What was wrong with the way NIC operated before the new board took over? Is this just a test case by the KCRCC before the same thing happens to our school district and city council? A community that has always worked together to make this city a very desirable place to live is now threatened by a minority who want to tear things down and use their ideology to reshape it.
