Lil Jon to play North Idaho State Fair

| February 27, 2023 1:05 AM

Lil Jon will join the Party in the Dirt Concert Series at the Findlay Arena on Aug. 23 at the North Idaho State Fair this summer.

For more than a decade, the words “YEAH,” “OK” and “WHAT” have been synonymous with multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning artist Lil Jon. He has been one of the most prominent figures in music and pop culture alike, performing for hundreds of thousands of fans with some of the biggest names in the business. He’s best known for his role in creating and popularizing the Southern movement and lifestyle known as Crunk.

Kootenai County Fairgrounds General Manager Alexcia Jordan is excited to welcome this superstar and continue to grow the entertainment lineup at the North Idaho State Fair.

“Our team, fueled by the joy we saw on our fair-goers’ faces last year, know that our concerts are an essential part of the fair puzzle,” Jordan said. “Our mission is to educate about agriculture at the fair. We do this best with a diverse, family-friendly entertainment lineup mixed in with our agricultural programs. Oftentimes our concerts bring in people who may not be traditional fair-goers. We see this as an opportunity to share our story and the importance of agriculture to everyone's daily lives.”

Lil Jon’s songs have been featured in huge blockbuster movies and television shows, including “The Proposal,” FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance,” NBC’s “Parks & Recreation,” “The Ellen Degeneres Show,” “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and more. In spring 2013, Lil Jon was on the cast of “Celebrity Apprentice All-Stars,” where he placed third and raised almost $200,000 for the American Diabetes Association.

Member's of the fair’s fan club will be given priority to buy tickets beginning Wednesday. To sign up, go to www.NISFair.FUN or text FAIRFUN to 22828 or 833-942-4274 (FAIRFUN – all one word). Public sales will open at 9 a.m. Friday.

Tickets purchased online or before Aug. 18 will include admission to the fair. Hold onto your ticket — it will scan one time at each location: the fair entrance and the arena entrance. Those who wait until the day of the show to get tickets, if any are left, will have to purchase separate fair admission.

"Acres of Fun” is the theme of the 2023 North Idaho State Fair, which will be Aug. 18-27 at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds.
