MY TURN: Cd'A is under attack

I want to call the NIC cancer the Three Stooges, but that would be an insult to Larry, Moe and Curley. While bumbling fools, the Stooges at least had goodness in their hearts. Our knuckleheads seem to have the ultimate failure of NIC in their hearts. “Community minded” is as far from themselves as Uranus is from Earth. It’s a mystery why these villains are so hell-bent on bringing down this valued community institution.

Recently, Trustee Banducci whined that it’s hard holding the position and that both he, personally, and his business are suffering because of it. The solution is staring you in the face, Toddy. Quit. And take your pals with you. Because I’m guessing that whatever happens in the end, you boys, along with your puppet president and real estate attorney, will all skedaddle out of town.

Or will you end up with penthouse suites in the condos that will replace the college? Is that your endgame?

You schmucks have no connection, nor interest, in our community, never have, never will. Your names might go down in history, but it will be as some of the worst people in Cd'A and Kootenai County. Ever. You are despised by the vast majority. You are unqualified. You have no integrity. You run public meetings like tyrants. You were elected by a sham and a shame called the KCRCC (and its self-appointed power broker). Fiscal conservatives, that’s a laugh. Your skulduggery is costing taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars, soon to be in the millions.

Pay attention, people. We've been under attack from outsiders who come here only to push their political agendas for years. But, much of it is out of the public eye. The NIC debacle is an in-your-face example of what's happening to the once-beautiful community. Maybe this will get you off your butt to vote next time around.

I’m approaching 68 years in Cd'A and as I watch this parade of malevolent attacks on my city, I keep wondering the same thing. Whose obituary will be first? Mine or my hometown's?
