POST FALLS SCHOOL LEVY: Support for children

| February 17, 2023 1:00 AM

I’m writing this letter in support of the Post Falls School Levy slated to be voted on March 14. As we are all aware from the uptick in school violence we are desperately in need of enhanced school safety. The levy will include additional SROs and campus security in elementary schools, secure vestibules, access control and security camera upgrades in all school districts. If approved, it will not increase school district taxes for the average taxpayer.

My husband and I have raised two children in Post Falls and we have three grandchildren. We realize that money issues can be overwhelming for all of us at times, but if we don’t make it a priority to invest in our education system, our children will struggle most of their lives for better-paying and more challenging careers. If every taxpayer played a part in the advancement of the children in our community, we would all benefit. Our children would have more self-esteem and be excited about higher education and school related activities.

Although we have recently retired and our children and grandchildren have graduated from school, we feel that it’s still our responsibility to ensure that every child has the same chance at a bright future as our children had. Post Falls children deserve the best opportunity at success that we can give them. After all, they are the future of America. Please remember to vote!
