CDA SCHOOL LEVIES: Funds are needed

| February 17, 2023 1:00 AM

On March 14, residents of the Coeur d’Alene School District will be asked to approve the district’s maintenance and operations levy. The funding from this levy is 25% of the school budget for classroom supplies, computers, elective classes, sports and extracurriculars, security, transportation and a lot more.

These funds are necessary for the future success of our children entering college and the workforce. This will provide higher wages for our teachers keeping them in our district. This will bring police officers to every building to ensure our children’s safety. This will help fund our sports, drama classes, art classes and many other programs to help our children thrive.

As a parent with two children in the Coeur d’Alene School District, I’ve seen the dedications of their teachers and willingness to help them become successful for their future endeavors.

A second levy request, for maintenance and security is critical for the safety of our children.
