SAVE NIC: Math doesn’t add up
Reading today’s Press editorial referral to a website, savenic.org, brings a flood of questions. Especially questions of benefit. Who is attempting to benefit and benefit in what way from so-called facts on this website? Usually such drivel hits the garbage can after a brief read, but this does deserve some attention to detail. Just look at one bullet point to understand.
“Every 4 jobs at NIC results in 1 job in the community.” Are these organizers mathematically challenged? There are so many ways to interpret this, I just want to know, am I alone? Basic math, oh, I suppose that’s something that prohibits actually learning to add, leads me to lots of questions. I’m certain the website authors just ignore basic untruths to assure compliance with their perspectives.
Am I the only person that sees that four jobs at NIC is in fact four jobs in the community?
