A love affair with chocolate
COEUR d'ALENE — The Chocolate Affair is also a love affair, as tickets are going fast.
The annual event set for 3 to 7 p.m., Feb. 11, gives ticket holders a chance to wander through downtown businesses with friends or loved ones, shop and sample an assortment of locally handcrafted sweet treats.
It is also considered Coeur d’Alene’s premier chocolate competition.
Tickets include bite-sized gourmet chocolate treats at each of the more than 15 tasting locations.
Tickets are $20 for general admission and $30 for wine and chocolate. Five extra tasting tickets are $10.
Check-in is at The Resort Plaza Shops.
Emily Boyd, executive director of the Coeur d'Alene Downtown Association, said they usually sell about 600 tickets. This year they have 800 to meet demand, but still maintain a cozy atmosphere.
She said the event is close to selling out.
It's described as a wonderful Valentine's date, with chocolate and wine the main attraction.
"Who doesn't love that?" Boyd said.
Volunteers are also welcome.
