COEUR d’ALENE — Lake Coeur d'Alene Cruises will wrap up a season of Christmas cruises Tuesday.

It's been a joyous run.

About 100,000 men, women and children took a Journey to the North Pole beginning Nov. 23 and wrapping up Jan. 2.

All departed nightly from The Boardwalk marina, with initial boarding at The Resort Plaza Shops.

The Coeur d’Alene Resort Holiday Light Show is built by a team of 15 people who work for more than two months each fall to set up more than 250 displays and more than 1.5 million lights, for a total of about 8,000 man-hours.

A new home for Santa, and new displays, were also unveiled at the North Pole across the lake this year.
